Disc brake hub?
I think I want a yamaha disc brake hub if anyone knows of one? (must be period!)
I want to change my 350 to disc brake rear as i continue to wear rear drums and shoes out rather quickley! (I know, I should get off the brakes but old habits die hard!)

Re: Disc brake hub?
So you're after a REAR disc hub? The only one I can think of is from a '70s TZ, and that would be hard to find, and expensive.
I wonder if you could use an XS650 from twin disc hub and fit a sprocket to one side?

Re: Disc brake hub?
Thanks for the replies.
yes, it appears that the TZ wheels are EXTREMELY expensive and rare!
I had already considered the RD400 etc but all of them seem to be mag wheels?
I guess it really doesn't matter if it is not an RD or TZ hub aslong as it is period then I can use it? The way I figure it, I'll try to find disc brake rear hub from something and then lace in a nice new alloy rim to suit.
I have been given a front wheel from a 73 RD250 which is fine for the hub but the rim is a steel one and will need to be replaced.
I think a trip to the wreckers is in order to sift through the mountain of shop soiled wheels.!!!

Re: Disc brake hub?
You could try RD200/125 rear wheels, junk the rim and respoke with an alloy 2.15 or 2.5.
I managed to find a NOS TZ250C hub for not much. it cost me $400 for a 2.15 x 18 rim and stainless spokes all fitted from Chivos in Granville, NSW.
There will be some fannying around with spacers and sprocket alignment of course, but you don't really need a strong back brake.
