It pays to spray some CRC inside the top of your for tube from time to time to stop the cap from rusting in. I've had a few lately that have been hard to get out, a pair that I did to day took over an hour to get out. A bit of provention will make it easier get caps off when you need too.

Pete.

Brett was having all sorts of dramas getting one out the other day when I popped in to see him. Seems like timely advice.

I had to drill and tap in to the caps that I did yesterday and used a slide hammer. One came out easy, the other we still had to heat before it finally came out.

Good tip. I had to pull apart an old set the other day and the caps were pretty stuck.

I sprayed them with WD40 then banged the forks upside down onto a bit of carpet, using the spring pressure to push them out.

Doesn't really old fork oil stink! pig
